Microsoft hates that Google is top dog in the search industry and they're trying really hard to make a better service. It's definitely something worth keeping an eye one. Noddy, true, but it is still 100% unnecessary to run a process like that in the background 24/7. An update service for a program should only run when you run the program. Steam is a good example of how it should be done (did I really just say that?)
